I’m Amaris, an American attorney, ethicist, proud Chicana mujer, and long-standing member of the Democratic Party now running to represent California’s 24th District in the State Senate.

Rooted in a deep commitment to justice, equity and service, I bring my experience in law, ethics and public service — including time with the U.S. Department of State.

A daughter of Los Angeles raised in a Catholic household and educated in LAUSD, I went on to earn degrees from Yale, Harvard Divinity School and Southwestern Law.

I was admitted to the State Bar of California in 2024.

As of 2025, I practice as a private attorney at Dordar Law and reside in West Hollywood, California.

A polyglot. Fluent in Spanish and competent in Mandarin, Hindi, Tibetan, and Sanskrit, I believe in the power of diverse voices to shape bold, inclusive policy.

I live the truth of my values, stand up for what I believe and serve State Senate District 24 and California by challenging injustices and confronting the fears of radical change so as to create a more just society.
